Infantry Platoon Sergeant

3rd Marine Division

SSgt. Thaddeus 'Ted' Malinowski served with the 3rd Marine Division in the Pacific during the
Second World War, rising to the position of Platoon Sergeant. He fought at Guam, Bougainville,
Guadalcanal, Saipan, and also at Iwo Jima where he witnessed the flag raising on Mt. Suribachi.
